I know that the longer you live in one place the more stuff you aquire. It always happens. You move in and it seems like you have all the closet space in the world, the garage is huge and you could use some extra furniture. Then five or ten years fly by and suddenly all [...]

Most everyone here in the office is taking their last stab at some vacation time today. One last fling, one last hurrah before September comes around. We’d like to keep coming into the office in flip flops forever but alas, it will be fall soon, for about 2 weeks, then winter for about 6 months. [...]

VOIP sounds like some kind of bug or maybe a new soft drink soda. Its actually an acronym for:
Voice
Over
Internet
Protocol.
This allows your computer to take your audio of your voice, digitize it, packet it, and send it to someone who is on another computer via the internet (or to a land phone line) in real time. [...]

I noticed that there are tools here on WordPress that alow me to see how many people are reading my blog and which posts are popular. Its suprising to me. I have some readers who most likley know me offline and syndicate this blog to their reader, but I also have a lot of readers [...]

I know we’ve already heard rumbligs about this, but the analog Tv channels that we all have available right now are scheduled to go off in 2009 in favor of a Digital Broadcast network. Those signals aren’t receivable via your current TV, unless its a HDTV. USA Today says that 15% of us (me included) still [...]

Its sad that first Marshall Field’s Company (the main store is on State street in Chicago) was bought from target and converted into Macy’s and now they announce that the Carson’s state street store will close altogether. How sad that the historically significant (department) stores can’t make enough money to stay afloat. Personally I’ve thought that Carson’s [...]

I am a fan of Ze Frank’s show every day and yesterday he posted saying people should send him “intros” for the show. So, being the geek that I am I recorded one. But apparetly I’m not geeky enough. I only have a cannon elph so video from a picture camera isn’t great, I don’t [...]

It seems that some of my fave TopGear shows are back up on YouTube. What fun. Check out the SuperCar Episode. This show really is the most fun ever. I would love to quit my job and just work on the crew for them doing whatever they want. Amazing stuff really. This is the funniest part [...]

I have friends moving all over the place these days. People don’t stay in one place very long anymore. I have had my fair share of moves all over also. One thing that makes it easier is finding a good moving company. Someone who won’t break your stuf, and won’t charge extra while hijacking your [...]

I had forgotten how much I like Matt Dusk’s music. I was looking for something different to listen to at work today and stubled across his last album “Two Shots” in the itunes library. I have been reaquainted with the combination of new and old that he creates. I also like that some of his [...]

Have a great manager at work? Finding a good manager to work for is rare these days, because managers don’t have any kind of standardized training or accountability most times, but the best ones seem to have things organized and accounted for and this software for Employee Appraisals and Reviews is a great help.

Flickr is one of my most favorite sites ever. I can spend hours exploring the pictures there from all over the world. The amazing thing that keeps people interested longterm is that it becomes your own photo archive online and that people can share comments and feedback on their photos. It was mostly used by professional [...]

For the Florida fans out there…this is interesting and you should know about it. There is a new site Acquireo.com that has businesses listed for sale. So working for yourself instead of “the man” can happen with a business of your own. The great part about this is that these businesses are already running. No [...]

This study just came out in the news and is bad news for those of us that battle the bulge every day. I know I am on a kick to improve my eating habits and exercise more and its because I fear that at some point I’m going to have negative health issues if I [...]
